Barcol-Air Laboratory

• In the Barcol-Air laboratory, at a 1:1 scale, mock-ups can be thoroughly tested under realistic field conditions. This gives the building owner, the engineer / architect, the contractor, ... the reassurance the proposed system will operate as designed!





• A mock-up allows one to FEEL the thermal environment in a new building, although the building itself may yet only exist as a concept on paper!





• Variable wall temperatures to simulate solar gains / losses


• A mock-up is not limited to thermal aspects; acoustics, room air flow dynamics, lighting, controls, esthetics, etc. can also be tested. The lab allows systems to be optimized, which can result in considerable cost savings over the entire building, especially with large projects! Contractors can also benefit from hands-on installation training.
